Home Sapien connects homeowners with vetted local contractors for large home projects and holds project funds until the homeowner approves the finished work. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we never sell your information, and we don’t hand your contact details to a pile of contractors.

What we collect

If you use the estimator (no account needed): the project details you enter — project type, size, materials, and your city or ZIP — which we use to generate your estimate.
If you give us an email for a launch notice or your estimate: that email address.
If you create an account and post a project: your name and email, your project description, photos and measurements, and your project location. City and ZIP are all we need to match local builders — your street address is optional and only used as described below.

How we use it

To generate your estimate, match you with local contractors, run the bidding and funds-protection process, and — if you opted in — send you product updates and a notice when service opens in your area. We don’t use your information for unrelated purposes.

What we never do

We never sell your information and we don’t share it with data brokers.
Your contact details are never given to contractors who bid — bidding is blind in both directions.
Your street address is shared only with the one contractor you hire, after you hire them.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. When you hire, your funds are held by Stripe and released to the contractor only as you approve the work.

AI assistance

Your project description is processed by an AI service to draft the project summary you review and confirm. It is not used to train AI models.

The estimator and your browser

The cost estimator runs without an account. To produce your estimate it creates an anonymous session stored in your browser; the project details you enter are saved so you don’t have to re-enter them if you continue. An anonymous entry becomes a draft project only if you sign up and submit it. We don’t use third-party advertising trackers on this site.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account or project is active and as needed to provide the service. You can ask us to delete it at any time (below).

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information, and you can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us. Depending on where you live (for example, California and other states with privacy laws), you may have additional rights, including to know what we hold and to request deletion; we honor these requests and won’t treat you differently for making one. Because we don’t sell personal information, there’s nothing to opt out of on that front. To exercise any of these, email support@homesapien.app.

Children

Home Sapien is for adults and isn’t directed to children under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy we’ll revise the date above and, for material changes, give notice. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
